Respiratory Services Offered
Diagnosis of Pulmonary Conditions
After obtaining information regarding your medical history, and doing a physical exam, Dr Bhamjee may perform a few diagnostic procedures to confirm his diagnosis. These may include a lung function test, a lung ultrasound or a bronchosopy.
Endobronchial Ultrasound
A relatively new diagnostic procedure done during a bronchoscopy to provide your pulmonologist with comprehensive information to make an accurate diagnosis.
Lung Function Testing
A lung functions test, is a variety of non-invasive tests done to evaluate the lungs in terms of lung volume, capacity, rates of flow, and gas exchange, providing your physician with the necessary data to make a diagnosis and determine whether or not you may have a lung disorder.
Sleep Studies
A sleep study, otherwise known polysomnography, encompasses a range of tests done to monitor sleeping patterns and the activity of the brain and body during sleep including brain waves, the blood’s oxygen level, heart rate and breathing.
Bronchoscopy
A bronchoscopy is done using a thin, flexible tube-like instrument fitted with a light and a camera, which is inserted down the nose and throat to the lungs to allow for visualization of the respiratory tract.
